  • What is your response to the petition? What actions have you taken or will you take to encourage the research community to apply for funding to carry out research into CCSVI for Multiple Sclerosis?

  • The Committee is also considering petition PE1296 on Low Dose Naltrexone which seeks to promote the trial of a new way of treating patients, at a lower cost for the NHS and, according to patients and medical staff involved, of greater health benefit. As pointed out by the petitioners, as so much of the research done in the UK is carried out by drug companies who would not make any money out of these new treatments, who is going to do the research?  Who has interest in doing the research?
