  • Further response sought, specifically to the points made by the petitioner in relation to the report of the review conducted in May 2010 by the Naval Secretary (Honours & Awards) SO1

  • what further communications have you had with the Ministry of Defence since the Minister for Housing and Communities wrote to the previous Secretary of State for Defence on 18 March 2010?

  • can you update the Committee on the investigations being carried out by Naval Command Headquarters and on the communications you have had with the Scottish Government on this issues since the Minister for Housing and Communities wrote to the previous Secretary of State for Defence on 18 March 2010?

Scottish Government—

  • will it, as requested by the petitioner, make representations to the UK Government asking it to investigate the circumstances into the process for awarding medals to those involved in the 1949 Yangtze campaign and, in particular, whether this process was corrupted as a result of the exclusion of relevant and important documents relating to the role of HMS Concord in the Yangtze Campaign on 30 and 31 July 1949?

  • for the purposes of this Committee’s consideration of the petition, what is your response to the issues raised in the petition and will you, as requested by the petitioner, investigate the circumstances into the process for awarding medals to those involved in the 1949 Yangtze campaign and, in particular, whether this process was corrupted as a result of the exclusion of relevant and important documents relating to the role of HMS Concord in the Yangtze Campaign on 30 and 31 July 1949?
