The meeting opened at 9:37am.

Richard Simpson declared that he is the Director of a nursing home company based in England, is a member of the British Association for Adoption and Fostering, provides advice on adoption and fostering matters to Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Councils and that his wife works as a child protection trainer.

  1. Item in Private: The Committee agreed to take item 4 in private.
  2. Regulation of Care (Scotland) Bill: The Committee took evidence on the general principles of the Bill at Stage 1 from the following witnesses—

  4. Appointment of Budget Advisor: The Committee agreed to appoint an advisor to the budget process and agreed the terms of reference.
  5. Regulation of Care (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee considered a draft Stage 1 Report. Various changes were agreed to.

The meeting closed at 12:35pm.
