Budget Process

The Committee continued its scrutiny of the Budget Process. The Scottish Executive's draft budget is scrutinised annually by the Committee.


Inquiry into Accountability and Governance

The Committee completed an inquiry into Accountability and Governance of Parliamentary-appointed commissioners and ombudsman.


Cross-cutting Expenditure Review of Deprivation

The Committee completed its cross-cutting expenditure review, to examine the formulae used to determine resource allocation on the basis of deprivation.


Local Government Single Status Agreement

The Committee completed an inquiry into the Single Status Agreement which focused on the likely cost of implementing equal pay and whether or not local authorities can meet the cost of this implementation.


Relocation of Public Sector Jobs

The Committee completed an inquiry into the Executive's policy on the Relocation of Public Sector Jobs in 2004 and then it monitored the policy by taking evidence on 6 monthly progress reports.


Scottish Water

The Committee completed an inquiry into Scottish Water investigating issues into accountability, structure and investment.


Cross Cutting Expenditure Review of Economic Development

The Committee completed its cross-cutting review of expenditure on economic development in two phases.
