Equal Opportunities Committee

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 1

1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 5 in private. The Committee will also decide whether its consideration of the main themes arising from the evidence heard and a draft report on its inquiry into migration and trafficking should be taken in private at future meetings.

2. Budget Strategy Phase 2011-12: The Committee will take evidence at the Budget Strategy Phase 2011-12 from—

John Swinney MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth, Russell Bain, Head of Public Service Reform Policy Team, and Yvonne Strachan, Head of Equality Unit, Scottish Government.

3. Inquiry into migration and trafficking: The Committee will take evidence from—

Deputy Chief Constable Gordon Meldrum, Chair, Serious Organised Crime Portfolio, ACPOS;
Lorraine Cook, Policy Officer, COSLA’s Strategic Migration Partnership;
Helen Baillot, Senior Asylum Support Adviser, and Simon Hodgson, Director of Policy & Communication, Scottish Refugee Council;

4. Annual report: The Committee will consider a draft annual report for the parliamentary year from 9 May 2009 to 8 May 2010.

1. Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider the Bill at Stage 2 (Day 6).

European and External Relations Committee

The Committee will meet at 10.30 am in Committee Room 2

1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 5 and future consideration of a draft report on its Treaty of Lisbon inquiry in private.

2. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take items 6 and 7 in private.

3. Scottish Government correspondence: The Committee will consider correspondence received from the Scottish Government.

4. Brussels Bulletin: The Committee will consider the Brussels Bulletin.

5. Treaty of Lisbon inquiry: The Committee will consider the key issues arising from its inquiry.
