Meetings of Committees

Equal Opportunities Committee
17th Meeting, 2009

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 1

1. Declaration of interests: Christina McKelvie MSP will be invited to declare any relevant interests.

2. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether its consideration of an options paper on migration and trafficking should be taken in private at a future meeting.

3. Carers: The Committee will take evidence on the development of the Scottish Government’s carers’ strategy, from—

Shona Robison MSP, Minister for Public Health and Sport, and Moira Oliphant, Team Leader, Primary and Community Care Directorate, Scottish Government.

4. All Our Futures: Planning for a Scotland with an ageing population: The Committee will take evidence on the Scottish Government’s strategy, All Our Futures: Planning for a Scotland with an ageing population, from—

Shona Robison MSP, Minister for Public Health and Sport, and John Storey, Branch Head, Older People and Age Team, Equality Unit, Scottish Government.

5. Work programme: The Committee will consider its work programme.

Justice Committee
33rd Meeting, 2009

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 2

1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 5 in private.

2. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether any consideration of written and oral evidence received on the Legal Services (Scotland) Bill at Stage 1 should be taken in private at future meetings.

3. Inquiry into decision on Abdelbaset al-Megrahi: The Committee will take evidence from—

Kenny MacAskill MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Justice;
Robert Gordon, Director General for Justice and Communities, and George Burgess, Head of Criminal Law and Licensing Division, Scottish Government.

4. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instruments—

the Diligence against Earnings (Variation) (No. 2) (Scotland) Regulations 2009 (SSI 2009/395);

the Diligence (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2009 (SSI 2009/396).

5. Alcohol etc. (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider whether or not it wishes to be involved in the scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1.

Finance Committee

The Committee will meet at 2.00 pm in Committee Room 6

1. Draft Budget Scrutiny 2010-11 (in private): The Committee will consider a revised draft report on the Scottish Government’s Draft Budget 2010-11.

2. Public Services Reform (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee will consider a revised draft Stage 1 report.

the Common Agricultural Policy (Single Farm Payment and Support Schemes and Cross-Compliance) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2009 (SSI 2009/391);
