Public Petitions Committee
6th Meeting, 2009

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Fraserburgh Academy, Dennyduff Road, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, AB43 9NA

1. Inquiry into the public petitions process The Committee will take evidence as part of its inquiry into the public petitions process.

2. Consideration of new petitions: The Committee will consider the following new petitions—

PE1242 International Development & the G20 summit. The Committee will hear oral evidence from Mark Buchan, Fraserburgh Academy

PE1243 Healthcare provision in rural areas. The Committee will hear oral evidence from Jenna MacDonald and Fiona Henderson, Fraserburgh Academy

PE1236 A90/A937 safety improvements

3. Consideration of current petitions: The Committee will consider the following current petitions—

PE1098 Mandatory fitting of seatbelts on school buses; and

PE1223 School bus safety. The Committee will hear oral evidence from—

Stewart Stevenson MSP, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change

PE1150 Support for community prisons. The Committee will hear oral evidence from—

Superintendent Innes Skene, Grampian Police Lady Cullen of Whitekirk and Susan Cross, Families Outside

PE1120 Funding of family mediation services

PE1221 A977

PE1226 Provision of forensic services

4. Notification of new petitions: The Committee will consider a paper indicating new petitions lodged since the last Committee meeting.

5. Inquiry into the public petitions process: The Committee will consider a paper from the Clerk on its approach to the inquiry.
