S2W-12274 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive when it will publish the (a) results of its consultation on smoking in public places, (b) results of its survey of people’s reactions to a smoking ban in pubs and (c) calculations used to inform the University of Aberdeen’s study International Review of the Health and Economic Impact of the Regulation of Smoking in Public Places, published in November 2004.

S2W-12275 Miss Annabel Goldie: To ask the Scottish Executive how many secure accommodation places there will be by 2007.

S2W-12276 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive what recommendations from the First Report of the Select Committee on Public Administration, published on 10 February 1998, it has put in place, with particular regard to the recommendation on political activity.

S2W-12277 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will extend the period over which candidates for public appointments are required to declare their political activity from five to 10 years and whether it will now ask such candidates about their membership of a political party or club.

S2W-12278 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will support the creation of a bypass of Nairn on the A96 and, if so, what steps it will take to achieve this and within what timescale.

S2W-12279 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive what representations it has received from either the Highland Council or HITRANS in respect of a bypass of Nairn on the A96.

S2W-12280 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will carry out any study into the need for a bypass of Nairn on the A96 and whether it will invite the local enterprise company to consider the matter.

S2W-12281 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether measures should be taken by it, or any other body, to preserve a possible route for a bypass of Nairn on the A96, in light of any possibility that further development to the south of Nairn would make such a bypass more difficult and expensive to construct in future.

S2W-12282 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive where documents for the period 1979 to 1987 pertaining to contaminated blood products used in transfusions that resulted in haemophiliacs becoming HIV-infected are located and whether these documents are subject to public interest immunity and, if so, what the reasons are and, if not, how these documents may be accessed.

S2W-12283 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-11607 by Malcolm Chisholm on 10 November 2004 and to the statement to the Communities Committee by the Minister for Communities that "the rate of fuel poverty was halved between 1996 and 2002 but there has been further progress since then" (Official Report c 1384), what progress has been made in respect of levels of fuel poverty since 2002.

S2W-12284 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the announcement by the Minister for Communities on 4 November 2004 regarding his correspondence with the power companies on fuel charges for pensioners, which companies have responded and what the responses were.

S2W-12285 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what its position is in respect of the most recent scientific advice from the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea which states that North Sea haddock mortality has decreased at the same time that North Sea cod mortality has increased.

S2W-12286 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what information it has on the extent to which the decrease in fishing capacity adopted by countries fishing each North Sea fisheries zone correlates with the level of cod caught by each member state in each zone in order to identify the extent to which each national white fish fleet has contributed to the protection of cod stocks.

S2W-12287 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive how much was spent per capita on research and development in each of the last three years, shown also as a percentage of GDP, and what information it has in respect of equivalent figures for (a) the United Kingdom and (b) each other member state of the European Union.

S2W-12288 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what schemes, supported by its departments, are available for applicants seeking assistance for the development of energy-related projects, broken down by department.

S2W-12289 Jackie Baillie: To ask the Scottish Executive how many cases involving domestic abuse resulted in convictions in each of the last three years, broken down by local authority area.

S2W-12290 Ms Wendy Alexander: To ask the Scottish Executive how much additional funding has been allocated for school sport in Renfrewshire in each year since 1999 and what it has been spent on.

S2W-12291 Mr John Swinney: To ask the Scottish Executive what recourse exists for members of the public who are dissatisfied with the conclusions of an investigation of their complaint by the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman.

S2W-12292 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive how many (a) full-time and (b) part-time staff have been employed in each of its departments in each year since 1999 and how many such staff have been employed on temporary contracts in each year, shown also as a percentage of total staff.

S2W-12293 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive how many staff have been employed on temporary contracts in each of its departments in each year since 1999, broken down by length of time spent on a temporary contract.

S2W-12294 Chris Ballance: To ask the Scottish Executive what the most recent data available is for levels of radiation, in particular caesium 137, in samples of soil, sheep and cattle outside the perimeter fence of Hunterston power station.

S2W-12295 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive what action is being taken to address the issue of affordable housing on the Isle of Arran and when such action will result in there being sufficient affordable housing on the island.
