*S2M-1296 Maureen Macmillan: Christian Aid Week-That the Parliament commends Christian Aid who work in over 55 countries helping people, regardless of religion or race, to improve their lives and tackle the causes of poverty and injustice; notes that Christian Aid week is 9 to 15 May 2004 and highlights the need to help those in the world's poorest countries to help themselves; further notes, in particular, the work Christian Aid is undertaking in Sierra Leone, the world's poorest country, to help ensure sustainable peace, and calls on the Scottish Executive to make representations to Her Majesty's Government to make available further resources to assist overseas development in order to eradicate inequality in the world's poorest countries.
