Section I : Petitions lodged on Tuesday 27th April 2004

  

The following Petitions were lodged with the Parliament on 27 April 2004-

PE737 Petition by Stephen Harte, on behalf of Holy Trinity Metropolitan Community Church, calling for the Scottish Parliament, before considering a Sewel motion in respect of the Civil Partnership Bill, to seek that the Bill be amended to provide for the possibility of solemnisation of a Civil Partnership in Scotland by a minister of religion in a way similar to that allowed for religious marriages under the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977, or failing which, the deletion of Clause 89(2) of the Bill so that Registrars will be free to conduct Civil Partnership ceremonies in otherwise appropriate venues which have a religious connection.
