S2W-6945 Tricia Marwick: To ask the Scottish Executive what the purpose was of the reception held on the evening of 11 March 2004 at Bute House; whether it was a private function; whether any of the public areas of Bute House were used for the reception, and whether the cost of catering was met from public funds.

S2W-6963 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive when it will publish the conclusions of its review of NHS prescription charges.

S2W-6964 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive what its position is on recent research in Canada, Adverse events associated with prescription drug cost-sharing among poor and elderly patients, referring to a correlation between increasing charges for medicines and a fall in the number of patients taking up treatment.

S2W-6965 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive what the annual cost is to the NHS of admitting patients to hospital who have failed to take medicines prescribed to them by their GPs.

S2W-6966 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had, and plans to have, with the Welsh Assembly with regard to the Assembly's decision to abolish prescription charges.

S2W-6967 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive how it calculates the discount given to chronically sick patients who purchase NHS prescriptions through four-month or annual pre-payment certificates.

S2W-6968 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends to change the (a) age limits, (b) income qualifications or (c) chronic condition categories relating to NHS prescription charges and exemption decisions.

S2W-6969 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive why patients with a chronic mental health condition are not exempt from NHS prescription charges.

S2W-6970 Colin Fox: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has compared the relative cost of NHS prescriptions in Scotland to the cost to patients in other European countries that use a similar system of charging.

S2W-6971 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what steps have been taken to reduce the number of adverse events in the NHS, analyse the impact of such events on patient care and staff, combat any "blame culture" in the NHS and learn from past mistakes.

S2W-6972 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what the patient to staff ratio is for each acute hospital, showing the percentage variation in relation to the guidelines based on the hospital's or NHS board's preferred formula that takes into account the workload and responsibilities for each hospital.

S2W-6973 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what the average number of hours of sick leave was per staff member in each NHS board in the most recent year for which figures are available.

S2W-6974 John Farquhar Munro: To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it is taking to ensure that its policies recognise the diverse needs of people from all cultures across Scotland.

S2W-6975 Tricia Marwick: To ask the Scottish Executive what the expected costs will be to it of implementing the provisions of UK legislation that have been the subject of Sewel motions in the Scottish Parliament during this session, broken down by Bill.

S2W-6976 Tricia Marwick: To ask the Scottish Executive what additional financial resources will be allocated to the Executive by Her Majesty's Government to implement in Scotland the provisions of UK legislation that have been the subject of Sewel motions in the Scottish Parliament during this session, broken down by Bill.

S2W-6977Δ Mr Kenneth Macintosh: To ask the Scottish Executive what action has been taken, or is proposed, following the announcement on 18 December 2003 about the blood transfusion incident involving variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD).

S2W-6978 Mrs Nanette Milne: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total budget of Careers Scotland has been per head of population in each year since its establishment.

S2W-6979 Mrs Nanette Milne: To ask the Scottish Executive what the annual running costs of the Careers Scotland website have been in each year since its establishment.

S2W-6980 Mrs Nanette Milne: To ask the Scottish Executive what proportion of the population has used Careers Scotland for guidance and advice, broken down by age.

S2W-6981 Mrs Nanette Milne: To ask the Scottish Executive whether Careers Scotland has a specific requirement to target young people not in education, employment or training.

S2W-6982 Mrs Nanette Milne: To ask the Scottish Executive how the budget of Careers Scotland is calculated.

S2W-6983 Murdo Fraser: To ask the Scottish Executive what types of business premise and installation are assessed for non-domestic rates on the same basis as England.

S2W-6984 Murdo Fraser: To ask the Scottish Executive what information it has on how the percentage of gross domestic product generated from private sector business compares to that in (a) England and (b) the UK as a whole.

S2W-6985 Margo MacDonald: To ask the Scottish Executive what operational and funding arrangements are in place for the research and development of policy on, and care for, people suffering from myalgic encephalomyelitis and chronic fatigue syndrome.

S2W-6986 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-3039 by Mr Tom McCabe on 14 November 2003, when the strategic review of the care home sector will be published.

S2W-6987 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive whether fire sprinklers will be made mandatory in certain technical building standards as part of the guidelines and regulation in respect of the Building Standards (Scotland) Act 2003.

S2W-6988 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive how it will support GPs who occupy premises that cannot be brought up to standard to provide primary care and therefore require replacement.

S2W-6989 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of contracted hours of NHS trust and board staff were lost to sickness absence in 2002-03 and what the trend has been of sickness absences over the last five years.

S2W-6990 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive what the estimated cost to the NHS was of the total amount of staff time lost to sickness absence and how much was paid to staff in occupational sick pay, over the last five years.

S2W-6991 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive what the estimated cost of replacement bank, agency and locum staff was to the NHS in the most recent year for which figures are available.

S2W-6992 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive whether its Health Department has established a common definition of sickness absence and collated and disseminated any central information on levels of sickness absence across NHS trust on the same basis as the exercise carried out in England.

S2W-6993 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive what the management procedures are for sickness absence in the NHS.

S2W-6994 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive what the level of sickness absence has been in each NHS trust and board over the last five years; what average estimated annual amount is paid by NHS trusts in occupational sick pay, and whether there are any plans to reduce levels of sickness absence in the NHS.

S2W-6995 Mr Brian Monteith: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total cost was of NHS general dental service dentistry in the last full year for which figures are available and broken down into (a) the amount paid by (i) patients and (ii) the taxpayer, expressed also in percentage terms and (b) the total cost of (i) continuing care patients, (ii) capitation payments, (iii) opening a surgery out of hours and (iv) item of service payments in respect of treatment carried out on patients who are exempted from dental charges.

S2W-6996 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive how many GP practices there are and, of these, how many require work to be undertaken in order to be compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Primary Medical Services (Scotland) Act 2004, broken down by NHS board area.

S2W-6997 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive how much funding has been provided to NHS boards for primary medical services, as referred in its press release SEHD 635/2004 on 13 February 2004, and how many GP practices in each NHS board area will benefit, expressed also as a percentage of the total number of practices in each board area.

S2W-6998 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive whether any GP premises that require building work will not be eligible for funding announced in its press release SEHD635/2004 on 13 February 2004.

S2W-6999 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive whether a building occupied by a GP practice, but not owned by the NHS, that required upgrading work would be eligible for the funding made available for building and upgrading GP premises.

S2W-7000 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive how many applicants there were for the post of Chair of NHS Fife and how many applicants were selected for final stage interviews and final stage selection processes.

S2W-7001 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will publish the person specification, selection criteria and methods of selection used for the post of Chair of NHS Fife.

S2W-7002 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive on what date the new Chair of NHS Fife will be in post.

S2W-7003 Carolyn Leckie: To ask the Scottish Executive what incentives, financial and otherwise, are available to individuals and NHS boards to promote vaccination uptake.
