*S1M-2919 John Young: Scottish Parliament Salaries Scheme and Scottish Parliamentary Party Leaders’ Allowances Scheme— That the Parliament

a. (i) in exercise of the powers conferred by section 81(5) (b) of the Scotland Act 1998, confers functions as specified in the Scottish Parliament Salaries Scheme (SP Paper 554) on the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body;

(ii) approves the Scheme; and

b. approves the Scottish Parliament Party Leaders’ Allowances Scheme (SP Paper 555); and

c. directs the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body to pay on and after 1 April 2002 the salaries and allowances stated in the Scottish Parliamentary Salaries Scheme and Scottish Parliament Party Leaders’ Allowances Scheme.

*S1M-2918 Dr Richard Simpson: Civil Contingencies—That the Parliament acknowledges the importance of civil contingency planning and, in the light of the atrocities in the United States of America on 11 September 2001, approves the ongoing work by the Scottish Executive, the police, fire and ambulance services, the National Health Service, the local authorities and others, in promoting measures to enhance the safety and protection of the people of Scotland.

*S1M-2917# Elaine Smith: In-House Provision of Public Services—That the Parliament congratulates North Glasgow University Hospitals NHS Trust on its decision to transfer porters and domestic staff at Stobhill Hospital, previously outsourced, back into the employment of the NHS trust on 1 May 2002; further congratulates UNISON on its "Positively Public" campaign, which includes support for the principle of having public services of the highest quality provided by an in-house team, and believes that the in-house model of public service provision should be extended right across Scotland.
