Fur Farming (Prohibition) (Scotland) Bill

The Parliament agreed yesterday to take Stages 2 and 3 of the Fur Farming (Prohibition) (Scotland) Bill on Thursday 7 March, Stage 2 being taken by a Committee of the Whole Parliament. All members of the Parliament are members of a Committee of the Whole Parliament and so may vote in any division on a Stage 2 amendment.

Stage 2 amendments may be lodged with Mark Brough, Senior Assistant Clerk to the Rural Development Committee (Room 3.7 Committee Chambers, extn. 85240) or Jake Thomas, Assistant Clerk (Room 3.7 extn. 85218). The clerks should be consulted about the wording and admissibility of amendments.

The deadline for lodging Stage 2 amendments is 2.00 pm on Tuesday 5 March. Members are advised to lodge amendments in good time before the beginning of the Stage, and as early as possible during the day.

Marriage (Scotland) Bill

As previously announced, amendments for Stage 3 of the Marriage (Scotland) Bill may now be lodged with the clerks to the Local Government Committee, Eugene Windsor (Room 2.05 CC, extn 85217), Irene Fleming (Room 2.05 CC extn 85219) or Neil Stewart (Room 2.05 CC extn 85223). The clerks should be consulted about the wording and admissibility of amendments. Members should refer to Rule 17.4 for instructions on how amendments may be lodged.

Amendments may be lodged until 4.30 pm on any sitting day or any day of recess when the office of the Clerk is open. Stage 3 will take place on Thursday 28 February 2002 and the deadline for lodging amendments is therefore 4.30 pm on Monday 25 February 2002.

Sexual Offences (Procedure and Evidence) (Scotland) Bill

As previously announced, amendments for Stage 3 of the Sexual Offences (Procedure and Evidence) (Scotland) Bill may now be lodged with the clerks to the Justice 2 Committee, Gillian Baxendine, (Room 3.9 Committee Chambers, extn. 85054), and Fiona Groves (Room 3.10, extn. 85220). The clerks should be consulted about the wording and admissibility of amendments.

Amendments may be lodged until 4.30 pm on any sitting day (or day of recess when the office of the Clerk is open). Stage 3 will take place on Wednesday 6 March 2002 and the deadline for lodging amendments is 4.30 pm on Friday 1 March 2002. Members are advised to lodge amendments in good time before the beginning of the Stage, and as early as possible during the day.
