Section I : Petitions lodged on 3 December 2001

  

The following Petitions were lodged with the Parliament on 3 December 2001—

PE425 Petition by Mrs Anne-Marie Glashan calling for the Scottish Parliament to adopt the precautionary principle recommended by the Transport and the Environment Committee in its Report on the planning procedures for telecommunications developments and the Stewart Report regarding the siting of telecommunications antennae in densely populated areas or within 600m of schools, residential care homes or hospitals.

PE426 Petition by Mr Brian Quail on behalf of Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, calling for the Scottish Parliament to (a) hold a full debate as soon as possible on the events of 11th September 2001, the causes of terrorism and the need to break the cycle of violence, (b) emphasise the importance of using the full judicial process to bring those responsible to justice and (c) do everything in its power to bring pressure to bear on the British Government to halt the military campaign against Afghanistan.
