Health and Community Care Committee

15th Meeting, 2000

The Committee will meet at 9.30 am in Committee Room 1

2. Time Limit for Debate: The Committee will consider whether to limit the time for debate on item 3 to 15 minutes

Social Inclusion, Housing and Voluntary Sector Committee

20th Meeting, 2000

The Committee will meet at 9.30 am in Committee Room 2

1. Item to be taken in private: Convener to move that consideration of the draft housing stock transfer report at the meeting on 14 June be taken in private.

2. Budget report: The committee will consider its report to the Finance Committee on the budget (in private)

3. Draft report on Housing Stock Transfer: The committee will consider a draft report on its inquiry into housing stock transfer (in private)

 

Standards Committee

8th Meeting, 2000

The Committee will meet at 9.30 am in Committee Room 3

1. Standards Advisor: Consideration of draft specification.

2. Models of Investigation: Conclusion of inquiry

3. Cross-Party Groups: The Committee will consider applications for approval from Cross-Party Groups in the Scottish Parliament on:

Agriculture and Horticulture

Palliative Care

Crofting

Men’s Violence Against Women and Children

Pluralism in Education

4. Lobbying: Initial Consideration of Proposals for an inquiry.

5. Register of Staff Interests: Consideration of draft report (it is anticipated that this item may be taken in private).

 

Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Committee

14th Meeting, 2000

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 4

1. Education and Training (Scotland) Bill - Stage 2: The Committee will decide the order of consideration for Stage 2 of the Education and Training (Scotland) Bill.

2. Local Economic Development Inquiry - Parliamentary Debate: The Committee will consider its input to the scheduled Parliamentary debate.

3. Future Work Programme: The Committee will consider its future work programme.

4. Executive’s Transport Bill: The Committee will discuss its role in the consideration of the Scottish Executive’s Transport Bill.

5. Proposal for joint meeting with other Parliamentarians: The Committee will consider a proposal from Professor John Bachtler for a joint meeting with other Parliamentarians.

6. Public Petitions: The Committee will consider the following petitions—

PE178 from the British Aggregates Association on the implications for the Scottish economy of the aggregates tax

PE163 from Owen Connelly on the future of Oxgangs Post Office

PE166 from the Strathmartine Women’s Rural Institute on the wider implications of the threatened closure of approximately 500 rural sub-post offices

PE186 from the National Federation of Sub Postmasters on the introduction of the Automated Credit Transfer System and payment of benefits at the Post Office

7. The Royal Society of Edinburgh: The Committee will consider an invitation to meet with The Royal Society of Edinburgh.

8. Business in the Chamber: The Committee will consider a report prepared following the questionnaire survey of participants in the Business in the Chamber event.

9. "The Same As You?" - Scottish Executive Consultation: The Committee will consider the Scottish Executive’s publication "The Same As You?".

PE17 from Western Isles Council on Skye Bridge discounting options for Western Isles residents

PE22 from the Island of Cumbrae Tourist Association outlining concerns in relation to the fare structure of Caledonian MacBrayne for the ferry to Cumbrae Island and calling for more detailed financial information to be made available

PE27 from Skye and Kyle Against Tolls on Float Concessions for Skye Bridge

PE132 by D. W. R Whittet calling for the Scottish Parliament to introduce legislation streamlining the planning system and change other aspects of the planning system and associated procedures within Scotland

PE154 by Dr Joanne Beaumont on behalf of Hillhead Primary School Board and School calling for the Scottish Parliament to intervene to overturn the decisions of Glasgow City Council concerning 7 and 8 Alfred Terrace, Glasgow G12

PE156 by Mrs Jean Charsley on behalf of Hillhead Community Council calling for the Scottish Parliament to intervene to overturn the decisions of Glasgow City Council concerning 7 and 8 Alfred Terrace, Glasgow G12

PE167 by by the Kings Park/Croftfoot Community Council calling for the Scottish Parliament to legislate to ensure that telecommunication masts will be subject to full planning controls with this legislation being effective retrospectively
