Section I - Petitions lodged on 17 May 2000

 

  

The following Petitions were lodged with the Parliament on 17 May 2000—

PE200 Petition by Mr Andrew Watt calling for the Scottish Parliament to review the working methods of the Legal Aid Board particularly in relation to the collection and disbursement of compensation monies collected.

PE201 Petition by Mr A Edwards calling for the Scottish Parliament to agree that the Electoral Reform Society (ERS) has shown a lack of independence and impartiality by not accepting a commission to carry out a poll of the people of Scotland on the Section 28 issue.

PE202 Petition by Mrs M Mason calling for the Scottish Parliament to enforce East Ayrshire Council to improve the refuse collection service to her house.

PE203 Petition by Friends of Victoria Infirmary calling for the Scottish Parliament to call for a new hospital to serve the people of South Glasgow and surrounding areas, with the services currently provided at Victoria Infirmary being retained meantime.

PE204 Petition by Dundee Anti Poverty Forum calling for the Scottish Parliament to investigate alternative ways in which the necessary investment needed to upgrade the water service is met and also to reduce the burden on low income households by extending Council Tax benefit to cover water and sewage charges.
