The remit of the End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill Committee was to consider and report on the general principles of the End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill.

This Bill was introduced into the Parliament on 20 January 2010 by Margo MacDonald MSP.

The Committee was established by decision of the Parliament on Wednesday 10 February 2010.

The Committee was disbanded on 2 December 2010.

Current Business

The End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill Committee was disbanded on 2 December 2010.

The Parliament held its Stage 1 debate on the End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill on Wednesday 1 December 2010. The Parliament did not agree to the general principles of the Bill. As a result the Bill fell.

The Committee received a response from the member in change of the Bill to its Stage 1 report on Monday 22 November 2010.

The Committee published its Stage 1 report on the Bill on Thursday 18 November 2010.

The Committee's call for written evidence ran from Wednesday 3 March to Wednesday 12 May 2010. A Committee news release accompanied the call for evidence. (Closed)
