4 July 2000 :   The Public Petitions Committee agreed to write to the Deputy Minister for Fisheries requesting his comments on the issues raised in the petition. It also agreed to pass a copy of the petition to the Rural Affairs Committee and to local MSPs for information. 

8 August 2000 :   The Ministerial response was considered and it was agreed to take no further action.
