26 October 2010 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government, Court of Session, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Faculty of Advocates, Law Society of Scotland, Scottish Court Service, University of Strathclyde and University of Edinburgh seeking responses to points raised in the petition and during the discussion.  

11 January 2011 :   The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the grounds it has considered the responses to the petition and the points made. The Scottish Government has stated that there are no plans to review the involvement of the judiciary in the legislative process. Further, it has been made clear in responses that if a litigant felt an office holder should be disqualified from hearing proceedings then it is open to the litigant to argue this during those proceedings. <Link to Official Report 11 January 2011
