Highlands and Island Draft Plan 2000 - 2006
Rhoda Grant and Lewis Macdonald reported back to the Committee on the European
Committee discussion on this topic on 31 August. The Committee adopted this report.
- Agenda 2000: Consultation paper on Community Structural Assistance in the Fisheries
Sector
The Committee considered relevant papers. The Committee endorsed the principle of
community management of fisheries as set out in Article 15 of the draft regulation. It was
agreed to ask SERAD to provide a summary of responses to their consultation, along with a
list of consultees, and an explanation of the process undertaken.
- Plant Health (Amendment) Order 1999
The Committee discussed the Plant Health (Amendment) Order 1999 (SSI (1999/22)) and
continued consideration of this Order until the meeting scheduled for 21 September.
- Petition from the Scottish Homing Union
The Committee deferred further consideration of this matter.
- Future Work Programme
The Committee discussed a future programme of work .
