Present:

The Committee agreed:

that the establishment of a Register of Interests for MSPs’ staff was a priority for the Committee, and that Clerks should come forward with early proposals;

that further consideration of matters relating to lobbying would be discussed at a future meeting following preparatory work;

that in its future deliberations on Models of Investigation of Complaints the taking of evidence from witnesses could require to be done over the course of 2 meetings.

The Committee exchanged views on the models for arrangements for the investigation of complaints against MSPs.

It was agreed that Committee members would provide the Clerks with the names of individuals/organisations they thought should be invited to appear before the Committee to give evidence, as part of the process of determining appropriate investigation procedures.
