  The meeting opened at 9.30 am.

 

  1. Petition: The Committee considered petition PE29 by Alex and Margaret Dekker on road traffic deaths. The Committee agreed that the Convener would write to the Lord Advocate, and that SPICe would be asked to provide background information, on the matters of concern raised.

  2. European Document: The Committee considered European Document 317 on money laundering, and took note.

  3. Scottish prisons: The Committee took evidence on the future of the Scottish Prisons Service from—

  4. John Reidy, Executive Committee member, and Eddie Hunter, National Chairman, Prison Staff Association.

  5. Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee considered a revised draft Stage 1 report on the general principles of the Bill. Various amendments were agreed to. The report as amended was agreed to.

  6. Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc. (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee considered a draft Stage 1 report on the general principles of the Bill. Various amendments were agreed to. It was agreed that a revised draft report be considered at the next meeting.

  7. Meeting in private (in private): The Committee agreed to meet in private to consider a revised draft Stage 1 report on the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc. (Scotland) Bill at its next meeting.

The meeting closed at 12.33 pm.
