Remit The Committee has agreed the following remit for this inquiry: To review Executive spending on deprivation, and to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of such expenditure and its coherence and consistency as cross-cutting issues, and to make recommendations, where necessary, to improve Executive performance.' Call for Evidence On 4 July 2005, the Finance Committee of the Scottish Parliament issued an initial call for evidence from interested parties to its inquiry into deprivation. The closing date for receipt of evidence was 30 September 2005. Report The Committee considered and agreed the draft report on this inquiry at its meeting on the 28 March 2006. The Committee’s report was published on the 13 April 2006.
Commissioned Research The Committee commissioned a piece of desk research on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. The research was carried out by Professor Glen Bramley and is available here.
