Meeting of the Parliament

The meeting opened at 2.30 pm.

1. Time for Reflection: Mr Parminder Singh Purba, Honorary Secretary of the Central Guruduwara Singh Sabha Association, Glasgow, led Time for Reflection.

2. Question Time: Questions were answered by the First Minister and other Scottish Ministers and junior Scottish Ministers.

3. Ministerial Statement: The Minister for Finance made a statement on Spending Strategy.

4. Decision Time: There were no decisions to be taken.

5. St. Vigeans Primary School, Arbroath: The Parliament debated S1M-959 in the name of Alex Johnstone—That the Parliament commends the quality of education provided at St. Vigeans Primary School near Arbroath; notes the concerns currently being expressed by the parents of children attending St. Vigeans about the possible closure of the school by Angus Council, and believes that the local authority should give full consideration to these concerns, given that rural primary schools are an intrinsic part of the rural way of life in Scotland.

The meeting closed at 5.30 pm.
