S2W-1232 Phil Gallie: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-888 by Allan Wilson on 25 June 2003, what the cost was of the Uist Wader Project.

S2W-1233 Shona Robison: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans there are to ensure that the findings of Sheriff Dunbar on 7 March 2003 in the fatal accident inquiry into the death of James Mauchland are adopted by all NHS boards and hospitals.

S2W-1234 Shona Robison: To ask the Scottish Executive who is held accountable if the findings of a fatal accident inquiry are not implemented.

S2W-1235 Shona Robison: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans there are to ensure that the findings of sheriffs in fatal accident inquiries are implemented by the relevant bodies.

S2W-1236 Shona Robison: To ask the Scottish Executive whether findings of fatal accident inquiries have any status in law and, if not, what purpose such inquiries serve and what lessons can be learned from them.

S2W-1237 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive how many people are eligible for ex-gratia payments from the Scottish Transport Group pension funds surplus; how many have not yet applied for such payments, and how much has now been paid in respect of such payments.

S2W-1238 George Lyon: To ask the Scottish Executive when responses to Proposals for Changes to Agri-Environment Schemes in Scotland will be published; what proportion of the responses were against transferring support for the Environmentally Sensitive Area Scheme (ESAS) to the Rural Stewardship Scheme (RSS), and what the disadvantages are of ending ESAS support and transferring such support to the RSS.

S2W-1248 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive what information it has regarding the viability of cruise liners operating between Scotland and Scandinavia; if it has no information, what plans it has to gather such information and what the reasons are for its position on this matter, and what support is available for acquiring such information.

S2W-1249 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive what additional support or funding is available to assist in the maintenance and enhancement of international maritime routes and whether any additional funding will be available for the Superfast Rosyth to Zeebrugge ferry route.

S2W-1253 Fiona Hyslop: To ask the Scottish Executive how training for the additional 2,800 teachers needed to meet its target of 53,000 teachers by 2007 will be funded.

S2W-1254 Fiona Hyslop: To ask the Scottish Executive when it will announce proposals for the training of additional teachers in mathematics and English in order to reduce class sizes in these subjects to 20 in S1 and S2.

S2W-1255 Fiona Hyslop: To ask the Scottish Executive when the discussions with education authorities, higher education institutions and the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council on the expansion of teacher training places will take place, as referred to in its news release SEED244/2003 of 25 June 2003.

S2W-1256 Fiona Hyslop: To ask the Scottish Executive on what basis the Minister for Education and Young People decided which the subjects are where attainment is most important, as referred to in its news release SEED244/2003 of 25 June 2003.

S2W-1264 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what information it has received in respect of any European Commission plans to extend Objective 1 funding for regional development until 2013, as referred to in recent comments by Glenys Kinnock MEP, and whether it has had any discussions with the commission about any such funding for Scotland.

S2W-1276 Sarah Boyack: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to consult on any amendments to the Scottish Rural Development Plan following its mid-term evaluation.

S2W-1277 Sarah Boyack: To ask the Scottish Executive what proportion of rural development spending was on (a) continuing and (b) pilot agri-environment schemes in (i) 2001-02 and (ii) 2002-03 and how this spending compares with the proportion of equivalent spending on such schemes in (1) England and (2) Wales.

S2W-1278 Sarah Boyack: To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of responses to Proposals for Changes to Agri-Environment Schemes in Scotland supported the continuation of the Environmentally Sensitive Area Scheme rather than transferring such schemes to the Rural Stewardship Scheme.

S2W-1279 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Presiding Officer what costs have been incurred in the employment of the acting Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner.

S2W-1281 Susan Deacon: To ask the Scottish Executive what steps are being taken to ensure the sustainability of debt advice and what funding allocations will be in place after 2004 to support and promote money advice schemes.

S2W-1295 Phil Gallie: To ask the Scottish Executive what information it has received about the outcome of a complaint considered by the Highland Council's Complaints Review Committee in August 2002 in respect of entitlement of people who provide foster care for their grandchildren to maintenance allowance.

S2W-1296 Phil Gallie: To ask the Scottish Executive which local authorities provide a financial support scheme for people responsible for the care of their grandchildren.

S2W-1297 Phil Gallie: To ask the Scottish Executive whether local authorities that do not provide financial support for people responsible for the care of their grandchildren are in breach of the (a) European Convention on Human Rights and (b) Children (Scotland) Act 1995.

S2W-1298 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to review the accountability of the Scottish Agricultural College.

S2W-1299 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive what progress it has made in negotiating a new contract for community pharmacy.

S2W-1303 David McLetchie: To ask the Scottish Executive how many patients resident in England were treated in NHS facilities in Scotland and paid for by English health authorities in each of the last four years.

S2W-1304 David McLetchie: To ask the Scottish Executive how many patients resident in Scotland were treated in NHS facilities in England and paid for by Scottish NHS boards and trusts in each of the last four years.

S2W-1305 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive whether there are any plans to produce Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network guidelines regarding chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

S2W-1306 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive what methodology it uses to assess improvement in the people of Scotland’s health.

S2W-1307 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to review record-keeping practice within the NHS.

S2W-1311 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer to whom the minutes of the Holyrood Progress Group meeting of 26 March 2003 were circulated.

S2W-1312 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer whether the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body will place in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre unpriced copies of any contract documents between the Parliament and Bovis Lend Lease in respect of the Holyrood building project that existed before the signing of the main contract document in October 1999, including documents relating to the appointment of Bovis Lend Lease in January 1999.

S2W-1313 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer whether the Holyrood building project construction managers have, at any time since the recommendation of January 2001 that Flour City Architectural Metals (UK) Ltd be awarded the wall-cladding and windows contract in respect of the MSP block, passed to the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB), or any other representative of the Parliament, any information relating to the financial position of the Flour City Group or any individual companies in the group; if so, when the construction managers passed the information on, and whether the construction managers have provided any information to the SPCB in relation to the recovery by it of losses relating to Flour City.

S2W-1314 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer whether the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body will place in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre copies of the six contractual notices of failure in specified areas referred to in paragraph 13 of The 2001/02 Audit of the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body by the Auditor General for Scotland.

S2W-1315 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer how many of the 456 design drawings supplied by Flour City in respect of the contract for the MSP block have been used without any alteration by the contractors subsequently appointed to carry out the works.

S2W-1316 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer, with regard to paragraph 16 of The 2001/02 Audit of the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body by the Auditor General for Scotland, what legal provision entitled the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) to withhold payment to Flour City in respect of the claims submitted for payment in July and August 2001; whether the SPCB would have been entitled to withhold payments in respect of the previous claims paid out between February and July 2001, and, if so, what the reasons were for not doing so.

S2W-1317 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer on what date, and in what journal or journals, the tender for the contract for wall cladding and windows for the MSP block was advertised.

S2W-1318 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer, with regard to paragraph 19 of The 2001/02 Audit of the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body by the Auditor General for Scotland, what companies other than Flour City were assessed; what points each such company scored, and, if it is not possible to disclose the names of the companies, whether the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body will give the scores awarded to them.

S2W-1319 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer whether Flour City satisfied the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body in relation to health and safety standards and whether the company breached any contractual obligations in respect of these standards.

S2W-1320 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer whether the decision not to publish documentation in relation to the Holyrood building project on the grounds of commercial confidentiality will now be reviewed and whether the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body will give precise details of the legal basis of the decision.

S2W-1321 Stewart Stevenson: To ask the Scottish Executive what research is currently being undertaken into ways of reducing the numbers of, or eliminating, midges that bite humans.

S2W-1322 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive what support it will give to ensure that the Clyde waterfront regeneration project meets its deadlines.

S2W-1324 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what additional political and scientific steps have been taken following fisheries negotiations in December 2002 in order to make representations to the European Union that the management of cod should be separated from the management of other white fish species and what progress has been made in respect of any such steps.

S2W-1325 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what management options there are for white fish stocks in respect of replacing the existing days-at-sea scheme currently under discussion with the European Commission; what the Executive's preferred option is, and when the discussions will be concluded.

S2W-1326 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive for how long the 10 million transitional aid for the fishing industry will be made available.

S2W-1327 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what progress is being made on the decommissioning scheme for fishing vessels and what the timescales in respect of the scheme are.

S2W-1330 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive whether people on the west coast of Scotland will be in any danger from wind-blown dust particles emitted from the proposed integrated lignite mine and power station development near Ballymoney in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

S2W-1331 Alex Johnstone: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-652 by Allan Wilson on 18 June 2003, whether it will give details of all stakeholders involved in the development of the Scottish Forestry Grants Scheme.

S2W-1332 Alex Johnstone: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-652 by Allan Wilson on 18 June 2003, whether it will undertake further consultation with other groups about the Scottish Forestry Grants Scheme in light of any companies expressing willingness to develop willow for co-firing since the original consultation.

S2W-1333 Jeremy Purvis: To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had with the City of Edinburgh Council about joint working between the council and other local authorities in respect of the Cities Review.

S2W-1334 John Farquhar Munro: To ask the Scottish Executive what action the Scottish Environment Protection Agency is taking to assess the potential environmental impact of the sinking of the cargo boat Jambo in the Minch.

S2W-1335 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive which statutory and other agencies in Scotland will be consulted in respect of the proposed integrated lignite mine and power station development near Ballymoney in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

S2W-1336 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to S1W-30227 by Malcolm Chisholm on 17 October 2002, whether Tayside NHS Board's confidentiality statement will be adopted by other NHS boards in order to enable funeral directors to be informed of bodies with infectious disease.

S2W-1337 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has had any discussions with Aberdeen City Council about improvements at the Haudagain roundabout and the Persley Bridge on the A90.

S2W-1338 Robert Brown: To ask the Scottish Executive what guidance has been issued to local authorities on the meaning of "significant improvement" in energy efficiency under section 2 of the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995; whether it has set any targets for such authorities (a) collectively and (b) individually in respect of making such an improvement, and what annual improvements in home energy efficiency have been achieved by each local authority since the act came into force.

S2W-1339 Robert Brown: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it plans to direct local authorities to employ dedicated home energy conservation officers.

S2W-1340 Ms Sandra White: To ask the Scottish Executive how many cases of MRSA have been (a) reported and (b) recorded in (i) 2000, (ii) 2001, (iii) 2002 and (iv) 2003, broken down by hospital; how many patients have had their stay in hospital extended owing to MRSA infection, and how much has been incurred by the NHS in extra costs arising from MRSA.

S2W-1341 Ms Sandra White: To ask the Scottish Executive how many deaths from MRSA have been recorded in (a) 2000, (b) 2001, (c) 2002 and (d) 2003, broken down by hospital.

S2W-1342 Alasdair Morgan: To ask the Scottish Executive why it has decided to discontinue the Environmentally Sensitive Area Scheme, given that the scheme will continue in England and Wales.

S2W-1343 Alasdair Morgan: To ask the Scottish Executive what the main differences are between the proposed Rural Stewardship Scheme and the current Environmentally Sensitive Area Scheme.

S2W-1344 Alasdair Morgan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will appoint regional agri-environment project officers, with specialist ecological knowledge, in the light of such officers being appointed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

S2W-1345 Jeremy Purvis: To ask the Scottish Executive what joint working there should be between the City of Edinburgh Council and Scottish Borders Council with regard to funding allocations arising from the Cities Review.

S2W-1346 Mr Mark Ruskell: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total budget was for Less Favoured Area Support Scheme spending in (a) 2001-02 and (b) 2002-03.

S2W-1347 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-774 by Tavish Scott on 19 June 2003, how many of the tenders for Pathfinder projects are from the (a) public and (b) private sector; when contracts will be signed, and when work will commence.

S2W-1348 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-829 by Nicol Stephen on 27 June 2003, whether it has requested, or will request, any information from the Royal Mail about the basis, assumptions and projected impact of the proposal to cease rail operations and what the reasons are for its position on the matter; what information it has received on these issues, and what steps it will take in order to determine the impact on road traffic and road maintenance.

S2W-1349 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive whether museums are entitled to seek funding from EventScotland for specific events at their venues.

S2W-1350 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive what performance points were accrued by the operating company of HM Prison Kilmarnock, broken down for each heading and subsection in Schedule F to the Minute of Agreement between the Secretary of State for Scotland and Kilmarnock Prison Services Limited for the Design, Construction, Management and Financing of a Prison at Kilmarnock, for the quarter April to June 2003.

S2W-1351 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive how much it has paid to Partnerships UK in each year since the foundation of Partnerships UK.

S2W-1352 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive in which of its projects Partnerships UK has been involved since the foundation of Partnerships UK.

S2W-1353 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive how much it paid for its financial interest in Partnerships UK.
