Section I : Petitions lodged on 25 January 2002

The following Petitions were lodged with the Parliament on 25 January 2002-

PE455 Petition by Mr Alex Hogg on behalf of the Scottish Gamekeepers Association (SGA), calling for the Scottish Parliament to initiate an independent inquiry into the cruelty and animal welfare implications of shooting red deer out of season.

PE456 Petition by Mr Paul Hyles, calling for the Scottish Parliament to (a) urgently initiate an inquiry into West of Scotland Water's commitment to continue to provide a high quality service to its rural customers and (b) call on the Minister for Environment and Rural Affairs to implement a moratorium on the current reorganisation of posts within West of Scotland Water whilst the inquiry is being conducted.
