1. Future Business Programme

It was agreed to recommend to the Parliament future business, Designations of Lead Committee, Sitting Days and Suspension of Standing Orders for the purpose of Question Time on 10 January 2002, as detailed in motions S1M-2542 to S1M-2544 and S1M-2548 (for text of motions see Section F of the Business Bulletin for 12 December 2001).

Motion S1M-2543, Suspension of Standing Orders, is necessary to allow the deadline for lodging oral questions for Question Time on 10 January 2002 to be 2.00 pm on 27 December 2001.

Motion S1M-2544 seeks the Parliament’s agreement to closing the office of the clerk on 27, 28 and 31 December 2001.

2. Timetabling of Bills

It was agreed to recommend to the Parliament that Stage 1 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill be completed by 15 March 2002.

3. Referral of Bills

It was agreed to refer the Water Industry (Scotland) Bill back to the lead committee, Transport and the Environment, for Stage 2 consideration. It was agreed to recommend to the Parliament that Stage 2 of the Bill be completed by 1 February 2002.

4. Inclusion of Motions in the Business Bulletin

It was agreed to continue the current practice of including in Monday Business Bulletins the text of all motions lodged the previous week.
