S1W-12970 Ms Sandra White: To ask the Scottish Executive how the operation of sun tanning parlours is regulated. S1W-12972 Colin Campbell: To ask the Scottish Executive how many (a) fatal and (b) serious injuries have occurred in the open cast and deep mine coal industry in the latest period for which figures are available. S1W-12973 Colin Campbell: To ask the Scottish Executive how many (a) fatal and (b) serious injuries have occurred in sand and gravel and hard rock quarries in the latest period for which figures are available. S1W-12979 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-12402 by Mr Jim Wallace on 25 January 2001, when the drafting of any regulations under section 115(4) of the Police Act 1997 will begin and what consideration or consultation is under way with regard to the provision of free enhanced criminal record certificates for those working with vulnerable adults which could inform any such regulations. S1W-12980 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive why it stated on 18 December 2000 that it would pay out up to £100 million in ex-gratia payments to the Scottish Transport Group (STG) pension scheme members when a letter dated 15 May 2000 from the Minister for Transport and the Environment showed the value of the STG pension surplus to be approximately £120 million. S1W-12981 Michael Russell: To ask the Scottish Executive what measures it is taking to resolve any difficulty experienced with regard to the scheduling of cases in the Sheriff Court, Glasgow, concerning prosecution of parents whose children are absent from school without authorisation. S1W-12982 Michael Russell: To ask the Scottish Executive how many prosecutions have been brought since May 2000 against parents whose children were absent from school without authorisation, how many such prosecutions were successful and what sentences have been imposed by the courts after any such convictions. S1W-12983 Michael Russell: To ask the Scottish Executive how many school attendance officers or other staff, whose responsibilities include following up cases of truancy and recommending prosecution or any other further action, were employed by each local authority as of 1 May 1997, 1 May 1999 and 1 May 2000. S1W-12984 Bristow Muldoon: To ask the Scottish Executive what additional resources will be made available to enable local authorities to carry out their responsibilities under the new statutory regime for contaminated land.
