2. Subordinate Legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instrument-

The Gaming Clubs (Hours) (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (SSI 2000/371)

3. Social Partnership Funding: The Committee will consider applications for funding a civic participation event and external research relating to attitudes to sentencing and alternatives to custody.

4. Convention Rights (Compliance) (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will take evidence at Stage 1 from-

Niall Campbell, Head of Civil and Criminal Law Group, Justice Department, Scottish Executive.

5. Proposed Protection from Abuse Bill: The Committee will consider a draft report.

1. Subordinate Legislation: The Committee will consider The Agricultural Subsidies (Appeals) (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (SSI 2000/347), The Brucellosis (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (SSI 2000/364) and The Enzootic Bovine Leukosis (Scotland) Regulations (SSI 2000/365) under the negative procedure.

2. Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will take evidence from-

Bill Swann - Scottish Campaign against Hunting with Dogs,

Alan Murray - Director, the Scottish Countryside Alliance and

Mike Watson MSP.

3. Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider their conclusions on the evidence received in the preceding agenda item.

4. Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider the need for fact finding visits in connection with this Bill.

5. Salmon Conservation (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee will consider a draft stage 1 report.

3. Convener's Report: The Convener will update the Committee on-

Oral report back on the first meeting of the "European Chairs-UK Group", held in Glasgow, 3 November 2000 with the Convener's counterparts from both the UK's Houses of Parliament and the devolved assemblies in Wales and Nothern Ireland

Proposal for a pre- and post-Council briefing from a Minister in the Scottish Executive in advance of the Council of (Fisheries) Ministers' meeting of 14 and 15 December 2000

Proposal for a discussion with the new Minister for Education, Europe and External Relations on the Scottish Executive's strategy for Europe

4. Scrutiny of EC/EU documents: The Committee will carry out the scrutiny of documents received for this meeting

5. New working procedures and a revised work programme (November 2000 to June 2001): the Committee will discuss its draft report
